Hands on experience

July 4, 2008 - Posted in beauty talks

I have seen this prestigious beauty school in tv that is catering to those who wants to become an overall stylist. They actually have the same concept as Regency Beauty Institute. Regency thought of teaching those who wants to become a beauty expert by bringing the salon to them. Yes, their campuses are styled like high end salons. You know those frequented by the rich and famous. But in reality, the campus is a salon meant to give a hands on experience to its students. And once you graduate from Regency, expect to find work right away. They could help you land jobs at salons or cruise ships and runways. Go and visit RegencyBeauty.com now for more information.

Finishing college

July 4, 2008 - Posted in knowledge and education

Not everyone who already works have finished their college degree. A friend of mine is working for a multinational company in the administration department. She is one of the assistants in the department. Come performance appraisal, her boss learned that she finished second year in college. She was then asked to complete her studies, preferably taking up classes on weekends. My friend is quite happy about this. But there’s a glitch to the plan. You see, my friend has a nine-month-old baby and weekends are the only time she spends with her husband and kids. Thank goodness there are online college courses from Capella University. At least now my friend can take up a business course related to her job. Capella offers not only undergraduate courses but also graduate courses, master’s and PhD degrees. Because of the clamor for this type of course being offered for graduate studies, Capella opened Online Writing Center that offers the writing process among others. If you would like to take up a course like this, I suggest you head on over to www.Capella.edu right away!

Invest in bullions

July 4, 2008 - Posted in business buzz

You work hard every single day. You save some money in the hopes that one of these days you could invest it and it will will give you double or triple its value. I can relate to that. That is also how I see the future and my hard earned money. Now, if you want to be able to invest it in something other than the fickle money market, how about considering an investment in bullion?

Most of you are hesitant to invest in gold and other precious metals, I know. That’s because there are a few of the legitimate sellers out there. But if you want to be able to be connected with all the legitimate sellers, I suggest you go through Monex Deposit Company, the leader in gold and precious metals investment in America for over 30 years now. With Monex, you can be sure your hard earned money is safe. Interested? Go to Monex.com now and see what advise they can give you regarding bullions.

My collection

I have a special collection at home. I value it more than my other possessions. I have been collecting mens gold watches for years now. I just love the look of men’s watches more than the ladies watches. For some reason, my dad gave me his two gold watches that he does not wear anymore. An uncle gave me his. And then another uncle. Until I realized I already have five functioning men’s gold watches. I started collecting when we went to HongKong and saw some there. Now, I have around twelve watches that I display in my room.

Our cousin in another city

My sister and I went to a cousin of ours to check on him. He is older than us and we consider him more of an older brother than a cousin. He was there for us when those times that we need him and we really love him for that. He’s been living alone for quite a while now, working for a big company in another city. For a gift, we were thinking of a California wine club membership and he was really happy when I told him about it. He’s okay and doing very well in work. When we went home, my sister and I were actually thinking of the same thing. That he be able to find a wife soon who can take care of him and love him as should be.

Try hard

If you have acne, believe it or not, even if people try hard not to stare, they will still look at your face and think that maybe you try your best to find the best acne treatment you could get your hands to. I should know, one of my friends is still suffering from this skin problem. She thought her skin will clear after she delivered her first baby. Unfortunately, acne still mars her pretty face. If only she can just scrub her acne off her face, she would have done it in an instant. She will try a new acne treatment from Acnexus.com soon and I hope her face will be cleared of this problem finally.

Old Eddie

June 16, 2008 - Posted in cars and tools

We will be getting some auto parts tomorrow. Our old car is acting up again and there are some parts that needed to be replaced. But the car I am talking about has been servicing us for a couple of years now. If we can only afford to buy a new car right now, we would have ‘retired’ old Eddie already. Oh yes, we call him Eddie. After the mechanic that restored him a year after we purchased it. Probably by next year, old Eddie can already retire. Hopefully.

Safe than sorry

My dad always remind us to check out travel health insurance when we go out of the country. My sister will be going to Macau by next month to do audit work. Although her company has her covered, she still got a separate one for her. One can never be too sure of things these days. Plus we all hear bird flu and other types of illnesses one get in other countries. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

Online shopping

June 16, 2008 - Posted in computers and internet

I hate going on midnight or 3-day sales here in the city. Almost all malls here have that kind of promo. But I normally don’t go because it makes me claustrophobic to be surrounded by that many people. But if there is a sale online, well, that’s a whole different thing. I love shopping online especially if items are on sale. I was able to buy my laptop when there was a sale at Buy.com, including my flash drive and my external hard drive. I was able to get a furniture for my aunt when there was a sale in this favorite furniture online shop that I frequent. Shopping online is more convenient and can be done at the comfort of your own home.

What do you prefer, shopping at the nearest mall or shopping online?

Convenient

June 16, 2008 - Posted in tech and gadgets

I love listening to music. Especially when I am working on my laptop. That’s why I am looking into buying a Bluetooth headset for me. It will make listening while working/typing easier for me. It will also be more convenient because even if I go to the kitchen to grab something to eat, or walk around the house while stretching my legs, I can still listen to music. What do you think?
